Be 'Castaway' with the Something Else Spring 2011 Collection

'Castaway' is the latest collection from popular Australian label Something Else, that takes inspiration from the ocean. Creative Director Natalie Wood continues to provide exceptional ready-to-wear designs, complete with Something Else's signature combination of art and fashion.

The range sees the Something Else woman dressed from casual to more dramatic looks, with a grungy take on the oceanic theme. Disheveled and washed up on shore, she explores and chooses to live off the ground and live a carefree existence. The contrast between the delicate designs and harsh landscape reveal the true beauty of the clothes in the collection. The designs include soft textures and washed hues of dusty pink, grey, beige and nude highlighted against vibrant reds.

Need some summer inspiration? Then check out the State of Georgia's S/S 2012 'Tickle Me Pink' Collection Lookbook! Bright splashes of colour in a range of cute dresses, skirts and jumpsuits scream out for summer to hurry up and kick away the winter blues.

Honing in on the popular colour blocking trend, the collection also features elements from the fashion ages. Georgia Hall, designer of State of Georgia has cleverly combined all the best bits of different fashion genres to create  an amazing collection that will fulfill every fashion-savvy woman's desires. Be inspired by the 1950s kitsch pool shorts, 1960s mod squad colour block and cut out dresses, 1970s Hollywood Pool Party glamour and nautical inspired cruise-wear or 1980s fun, flirty tutu skirts.

Of her collection, Hall said she was most inspired by the "sporty 70s vintage girl, it's Charlie's Angels meets Jodi Foster in Taxi Driver". With Hall's signature detailing like box pleating, frills and ruffles the collection is  bright, flirtatious and fun!

Fresh New Face: Anja Konstantinova

With her bleach blonde hair and eyebrows, big eyes and high cheekbones, the camera definitely loves Anja Konstantinova. The stunning Russian-born beauty should have the modelling world at her feet, but there is just one small hurdle - her height!

The shortest model at this years RAFW, Anja has had to work extra hard to gain her rightful place in the modelling industry. The 163cm stunner joins fellow famed models Bambi Northwood-Blyth and Zippora Seven as models under the standard 176cm (5'9"). Anja moved to Melbourne at the age of 12, from St Petersburg, after her mother joined the Australian Ballet.

She is currently represented by Priscillas Model Management, and has so far appeared in Oyster, Grazia and an online special for Fashion Gone Rogue.
Anja aims to be the next Kate Moss and overcome her height saying  "People in Australia don't accept shorter girls because they are a bit harder to work with, you have to photograph them a certain way".

Expect to see more of this pint-sized beauty as she has been cited as the next big thing to come out of our country. Up next Anja will be featuring in the spring/summer campaign for hot new label 'Mad Love' which I am lucky enough to be attending the photo shoot next week! Keep an eye out for some behind the scenes images...
